A fabulous collection of 32 ice sculptures in the centre of York. As they are ice and there were crowds of people which restricted photography some sculptures provide better images than others. Enjoy the selection below.
Ice 2 - Reawakening the stories of the past. Based on a helmet theme, fabulous detail.
Ice 3 - Minster to Metropolis. Nearly 200 years of railway links - London Eye, Big Ben, York Minster and more.
Ice 4 - House of Mouse. Most definitely a mouse. Shame the website software cropped Mickey and Minnie.
Ice 5 - York's chocolate story-book. An open book with lots of chocolate bars in the pages.
Ice 25 - 50 years of railway legends. A fabulous train for the National Railway Museum.
Ice 30 - No longboat? No problem. What would a Viking make of catching a bus at the park and ride?
Ice 31 - Bettys Craft Bakery. Bettys cafes have such a dedicated group of customers.
Ice 32 - Live ice carving. Wonderful to watch this gent use a chainsaw and chisels to carve York Minster.

Some people look down on Great Yarmouth as its days as a fishing port and fashionable coastal resort are past their prime. BUT it's past has left it with a wonderful architectural legacy, wish I had taken more photographs of its buildings.
